A New Destination Steak Restaurant Coming to Gorseinon
We’re delighted to announce a new addition to the Redefining Dining Co family: The Coal House, opening in Gorseinon in October 2026.
The former Seagers restaurant is currently undergoing a major transformation, with an extensive refurbishment planned across the restaurant, bar, outdoor areas and car park. When the doors reopen, guests can expect a welcoming destination steak restaurant and bar created for memorable meals, relaxed drinks and special occasions.
Exceptional steaks and a serious drinks offering
Steak will sit at the heart of The Coal House menu. Our chefs will serve expertly prepared dry-aged steaks alongside seasonal dishes and a carefully developed wider food offering.
The bar will be every bit as important as the kitchen, with crafted cocktails, premium spirits, well-kept beers and a considered wine list. Whether you’re joining us for dinner or simply stopping by for a glass of wine, you can expect the same warm, genuine hospitality throughout.
Our ambition is to create one of South Wales’ standout neighbourhood steakhouses: somewhere people will travel to visit, while remaining proudly rooted in Gorseinon and its community.
A new chapter for a much-loved venue
We understand how much the former Seagers has meant to generations of local guests. Our intention is to build upon that legacy, preserving the venue’s place at the heart of the community as somewhere people can dine, meet, celebrate and make memories together.

“Living in the area, I know how much this venue means to the community and how Chris and the family have supported Gorseinon with great food and hospitality over many years.
“We didn’t want to see such a well-known local venue remain closed for long. When the opportunity arose to bring it into the Redefining Dining Co family, we knew we could create something special here.
“The investment goes far beyond changing the name above the door. We’re completely transforming the venue and developing a food and drink experience that we believe will give Gorseinon something genuinely exciting.”
The Coal House will join our growing family of Welsh hospitality brands, which includes The Welsh House, The Wine House, Cattle & Co Smokehouse, Salvatore’s Pizzeria and The Saloon.
